Bamei means 'cave in the forest' in Zhuang language. During the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420) Tao Yuanming described Bamei as a Peach Blossom Valley isolated from from the rest of the world. People there lived a simple, pastoral life. For centuries, Chinese people merely regarded this valley as an imaginary place.Thursday, October 27, 2011
