Acrylic Playing in Progress at Nextfab Studio

POP: an exploration of paper, form and light

This is an introductory course for all levels on constructing pop-ups and adding lights to them with paper based electronics. Participants will learn a variety of pop-up mechanisms, basic switches and methods for adding LED lights to their own works of art, books or cards. While an emphasis is on learning pop-up techniques, students will also leave with several working electronic models. No soldering required!

Les structures pop-up les plus complexes émergent de mécanismes simples qui dépendent uniquement d’un peu de colle, de papier et d’une grande imagination. En compagnie de Colette Fu, apprenez les rudiments de la conception de structures mobiles en papier : fentes, plis angulaires, plateformes et figures tridimensionnelles. Incorporez vos propres photographies, estampes ou dessins dans ces structures pour créer des cartes, des livres et des oeuvres pop-up uniques. L’atelier se donnera en anglais.
Prérequis : être artiste professionnel ou émergent
Frais d’inscription : 200 $ (membre) ou 275 $ (non-membre), taxes en sus, non remboursable.
